Important Update 7th March 2023: Note that having been (while deep in my own existential personal suicidal bereavement/crisis) very worried about ‘climate change’ and ‘global warming’ a few years ago, especially after engaging with Jem Bendell’s ‘Deep Adaptation’ viral paper and movement, and with similar doom-ridden supposed scientific evidence of ‘no human life left on Earth by 2030′ (or even 2025), I realised increasingly from about 2019 that Earth’s warming is part of wider solar system changes and nothing really to do with human carbon ’emissions’. In fact carbon is what enables plants and trees to grow, and the evidence of sea-rises and glacial catastrophes is highly questionable at best, and politically corrupt and evil at worst.
This does not alter my belief that we have an ecosystem crisis, notably pollution of the seas and land and air by vast corporations, which needs fixing.
The remainder of this post is as it was originally written.
The next free monthly Feelgood Farm cafe event is 2-4pm Friday 25 October.
Good Grief + Climate Cafe is for bereavement and any other worries/hopes/dreams, including climate change, future, humanity, etc.
It’s for people directly affected and wanting to talk/listen with others who understand, and also for helpers and change-makers, and other types of leaders of all kinds.
If you seek to understand yourself, life, death, and some extremely deep things, whether for your own growth and wellbeing, or to help make clearer sense of our fast-changing world (work and play) and societies (in all aspects), and what all this means for our futures, then you’ll perhaps find some things of great personal and wider value at Feelgood Farm’s events.
Grief, trauma and human existence are all deeply connected:
Life, change, being human, growth, wellness and community. People and planet.
The events are very informal. Simply it’s about talking, listening, sharing feelings, having a cuppa. Smiles and laughter too.
Grief and big life changes are normal. It’s how we grow stronger and wiser. We’re designed to cope and heal, and to help others, in natural ways. These fundamental principles are more significant in how we live and help others to live, than the most complex societal or economic theories. Life is really much simpler, and infinitely more wonderful, than we are conditioned to believe.
